This stone house is a charming space, great for a romantic getaway for two. Built from a ruin, the house has been recreated, retaining the spirit of the typical lava homes, but with the amenities of a lifestyle that is exquisite yet relaxed. There is a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom. The open space you have is truly original, with two glass walls, from ceiling to floor (sliding glass doors). On the northern side you can enjoy the view of the island of São Jorge and the canal, to the left the majestic northern bays of the island and on the other side of the living room a different space, exclusive and private, where you can enjoy the sun or a romantic dinner, a stone barbecue and a cut cliff that allows you to see the various layers of lava formation in a small garden.
This house is part of a small family owned resort, located near the restaurant Magma, a little souvenir shop, a yoga room and an heated swimming pool.

Amazing stay!
I enjoyed my stay at Casa do Outeiro, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. The accommodation was nice, peaceful, and easy to find. The daily sunrises and sunsets were beautiful and staying up late to see all of the stars was epic. Oh! And the washing machine to clean my clothes mid-trip was a nice surprise. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food at Magma was great (don’t forget to make a reservation because it easily books up)! I took advantage of a massage and it was so relaxing. There were a couple of families staying here while I was so it didn’t get too loud with the kids.

Perfect
The photos online are beautiful but the reality is even better. Lava Homes is peaceful, picture perfect and the service is amazing. The view is breathtaking and we ate in the restaurant each day as the food was lovely and the service was always friendly. The house has everything that you could possibly need. We really didn’t want to leave!

Everything was perfect ! Casa do Outeiro was so cosy, and lava homes is an exceptional place with kind staff and a beautiful pool. The restaurant is also delicious !
Stupendous!
Lava Home, is that rare gem you actually don't want to share with the entire world. But we would be amiss to not write this 5* review. A mini eco resort dream come true, the sliding doors, the breathtaking view, the minimalistic decor. Every detail was thought through. As a fashion professional, travel concierge-to be, I relish these small scale places. On cooler/ rainy days, the pellet stove was perfectly cozy. Our favorite pastime was sitting on the terrace and watching Sao Jorge Island, playing hide and seek behind the clouds. The food in the restaurant *4 nights in a row * was delish, impressive wine selection and melt in your mouth desserts! Best of all: The humans fabulous, friendly and helpful would best sum up. Ask for Bruno and have him pour you a ti-punch. GO Pico!
Estadia magnífica
Adorámos a vossa casa. É perfeita. Localização, a vista, as comodidades , tudo perfeito. Ficámos 5 dias mas poderíamos ficar um mês que seria maravilhoso desfrutar de tudo. Staff muito simpático e acolhedor e pequeno almoço bom. Recomendo vivamente. Parabéns
Experiência incrível
A experiência foi incrível. Desde vista, o silêncio, a formo como fomos recebidos, às comodidades... Recomendo vivamente. A única sugestão, para a Casa do Outeiro, é realmente apostarem em algo que à noite não permitisse a visibilidade da rua para dentro. Sendo a primeira casa logo à entrada, creio que isso daria mais alguma privacidade aos hóspedes. Obrigada e até a uma próxima 😊
